Employer's Social Security Contribution has Changed for 2009

The contribution that the small business makes to each employee's social security has changed for 2009. It is now $106,800. Once an employee earns $106,800, you no longer take out social security from their paycheck. The employee contributes a maximum of $6,621.60, matched by the employer.

Medicare is not affected. Medicare has no maximum contribution.
