During the recession, my company was not only able to survive, but actually thrive due to my business strategy. During a down economy, most people's entertainment budget's are stretched and they look for low-cost ways to occupy themselves at home. Board games are a low-cost form of entertainment for both families and parties and can be played multiple times, allowing further value for your dollar.
Tips and Tricks
- We took advantage of the "cocooning effect" resulting from the down economy and ramped up the sale of our board games.
- We kept the price at a fair market value at retail outlets.
- We developed a line of travel games at less than half the cost of the original board game to appeal to a new target market.
